Elhousine Elazzaoui climbed 2,700m in the Basque Country to take what he’s come so close to before. After back-to-back second place finishes, he crossed the line in 3:43:28–this time, in first.
“Wining Zegama was a dream,” says Elhousine. “After four years, I've never had success at winning. I ran as I wanted to, with patience and intelligence. I'm the happiest person in the world now.”
